The Britannia, a sleek regatta yacht, was constructed in 1893 for King Edward VII. In England, the Britannia is still considered the most important and grandest regatta yacht of her kind ever built in the history of world yachting. Her lines are so impressive and harmonious that one could hardly imagine a more perfect ship. The Britannia still holds the record in England for glorious victories in sailing regattas.
Due to the 3D printed hull made of PLA plastic (polymer+wood particles) the assembly is very easy from the beginning. The precise construction drawings on a scale of 1:1 ensure an excellent overview and comprehensibility - there are no misunderstandings or questions! In this way, ship modelling is also accessible to children and beginners, because it is simply fun! And yet, in the end, a model proudly stands there that really deserves its name, since it is made exclusively of fine natural woods with brass fittings and completely without plastic parts. Last but not least, the finished model looks elegant and pleasing enough to cut a good figure at any time, even in direct comparison with its "big brothers" - ship models on a larger scale! What's more, it fits on any bookshelf.
The set contains all the necessary components to build the model. The hull is prefabricated and only needs a little work. The add-on parts are made of precious wood and some of them have to be made by yourself. All fittings are made of cast metal. Material for the model stand is included
Not included are paints, tools and adhesives.
