The TYPHOON takes us back to the era of great racing boat designers and their forward-looking sponsors. In 1929, Edsel Ford - not only America's No 1 car manufacturer, but also a passionate racing boat pilot - led the TYPHOON to victory. The TYPHOON was designed by George Crouch and built in the shipyard of Henry B. Nevis. The TYPHOON was a further development of the Teaser and Baby Bootlegger, which beat the "Twentieth Century Limited" in a legendary race in 1925.
DUMAS celebrates the exciting 1920s with a 1:10 scale model of the TYPHOON! The TYPHOON was built according to the shipyard plans of Mark Mason, owner of the New England Boat + Motor Co. Mason built an exact 1:1 replica of the legendary TYPHOON.
The model is produced in double planking. US birch for the interior panelling and fine mahogany for the precious "outer skin". The many magnificent chrome fittings - from the windscreen surround to the exhaust pipe - give the TYPHOON an irresistible expression of speed and luxury! The seats and dashboard are deep-drawn. The propulsion system includes stern tube, shaft, bronze propeller, rudder and linkage. Drawings and instructions complete the kit.
With our range of accessories, the Posi lamps can also be illuminated, but the necessary cables should be planned early in the construction process.
