Elbehafen I RC wooden model kit in 1:50 scale

The tugboat Elbehafen 1 was built in 1971 and initially served in Brunsbüttel. Originally stationed at Brunsbüttel Elbehafen, which is part of a group of ports strategically located on the Lower Elbe and Kiel Canal, the tugboat has become an important part of the region's maritime infrastructure, especially in the area of towing services for larger ships entering or leaving the port.
The ship was purpose-built for the requirements in Brunsbüttel, where it played a crucial role in the daily port operations. However, over time, the tugboat was renamed and is now presumably sailing under the name Kiwi.

During its active service, the Elbehafen 1 was an indispensable part of the port logistics in Brunsbüttel, which is known for its extensive transshipment capacities and the possibility of transporting various goods by sea, rail and road. Particularly in the context of the busy Kiel Canal route, the tugboat was essential to ensure the safety and efficiency of shipping traffic.

With an icebreaker bow, bow thruster, Kort nozzle and Becker rudder, this tug was perfectly equipped for all operations.

The model kit contains all the parts and materials required for construction. The hull is built using the classic keel-frame technique. The frames are made of plywood and are ready-lasered. The simple hull planking is done with battens in 2x5mm format. Deck parts are made of MDF boards, with the advantage of an already very smooth surface. The superstructures are richly detailed, with the manufacturer having already incorporated laser markings for the attachments. Time-consuming measuring and searching for what fits where is almost completely eliminated. The set includes a large number of small and attachment parts that have been manufactured using the 3D resin (liquid resin) process. Compression stages are almost invisible and with little rework, the parts can be used immediately. Unusual for a kit in this price range are the many equipment parts. The bridge has a complete interior. Bolts, screws and rivets are already moulded on pumps and fittings. The complex mast is also printed in parts, with details already worked in. The lighting for the position lamps and the wheelhouse has also been thought of.

The kit only includes the material for the static model, but an electric drive has been planned and can be implemented with optional accessories.

In addition to the illustrated assembly instructions, the kit includes a parts list with tips, both in German.
Tools, glue and paints are not included in the model kit. If the model is built as a functional model and equipped with a remote control, additional accessories are required!
