DIVA cabin cruiser

Kit of a model cabin cruiser from the 1960s. The cabin superstructure is removable, allowing easy access to the interior of the model in order to reach the components required for propulsion, such as the motor, battery and servo. The model is built using a frame construction method - a slipway (template) is supplied to allow precise work and ensure that all frames are mounted at the correct angle. The frames are already laser-cut from birch plywood. The hull and deck are extensively planked with mahogany plywood. The cabin is also constructed from precious wood. All wooden components are prefabricated using laser cutting, which allows the ship to be built relatively quickly. The kit contains all the necessary fittings and add-on parts, the railing and railings are even bent ready for installation. Included is a very simple shaft system consisting of a 5mm stern tube with pressed-in sintered bearings and a 2mm thin shaft onto which the plastic propeller is to be glued. A spring motor coupling for a motor with a 2.3mm shaft is included. The building instructions consist of a colour step-by-step guide which also includes information on adhesives and paints. Material for a model stand is included in the kit.

For the motorisation we recommend a 400 class brushed motor and a battery with 6NC cells or 2S Lipo.

We recommend considering the installation of a higher-quality shaft, which also makes it easier to replace a defective propeller and is suitable for higher speeds if a brushless motor is to be used.
