The Myrtle Corey is a marvellous example of a late 18th century riverboat and was mainly found on the Mississippi, Arkansas and their tributaries. This type of vessel was usually built on the spot without any kind of plan from simple materials and with a lot of tools and a makeshift rigging.
The kit consists of a moulded plastic hull and roof parts. The superstructure is made of PVC hard foam, already finished and neatly cut out. The kit contains a large number of wooden parts for the typical deck panelling and the superstructure cladding. Particular emphasis was placed on the really high level of detailing (e.g. boiler details), the kit includes all the necessary fittings and accessories as castings, turned wooden parts and laser-cut components, and of course all the parts for the paddle wheel and the rudder with linkages.
A geared motor with max. 120 rpm should be provided for the drive.
The instructions are only available in very simple English, many drawings facilitate assembly and make translation almost superfluous.
So if you want to build a slightly "different" model, why not try your hand at the Myrtle Corey! Equipped with our steam generator and sound modules, the model is a real attraction.
