Steam tug Zeeland - RC model kit in scale 1:35
The Dutch company Goedkoop in Amsterdam was a well-known towing and salvage company. It was founded in 1847 and played an important role in Dutch shipping history, particularly in the field of sea towing services. During the years of the Second World War, a tugboat was built for the company and christened Winston Churchill. The tug mainly served as a coastal tug and was used for salvage work. In 1964, the tug was sold to the Willem Muller company, the steam engine was replaced by a diesel engine and the vessel was renamed Zeeland. After its active service, the ship was decommissioned and eventually scrapped.
The kit consists of a deep-drawn ABS hull, the deck and superstructure of laser-cut plywood parts. A complete set of fittings for equipping the model is included. Drive shaft and a Raboesch brass propeller are included in the kit. The installation of the motor and remote control are prepared. The superstructure is removable and offers good access for maintenance work. The model is attractive due to the many add-on and accessory parts, which often have to be assembled from many parts. There is plenty of scope here for the experienced modeller. A simple model stand is also included. The printed building instructions are illustrated step-by-step instructions with over 40 pages in several languages, including German.
