Ymer tug boat model kit

Based on the Danish tug boat M/S YMER, which was built in Aalborg in 1942 for the ‘Forenede Bugserselskab’. In 1951, the Ymer capsized in Copenhagen's ‘Frihavn’ and the 4-person crew was rescued. She was later salvaged and sold to a Greek company in 1975 and renamed Deka.

The construction kit is a new edition of a model series from the 1970s. It has been completely revised and includes new illustrated step-by-step instructions. The set consists of vacuum-moulded ABS parts for the hull and deck. Superstructures are laser-cut plywood parts. A complete set of fittings for equipping the model is included. The kit is aimed at model builders with little experience. Conversion to an RC model is possible for advanced model builders, but should be well planned before construction.
