Folkboat model kit: A piece of Scandinavian sailing history for your home

The Folkeboot has its roots in the 1940s in Denmark. Originally designed as a robust and versatile sailing boat for use in the North Sea, the Folkeboot quickly gained worldwide recognition for its outstanding sailing characteristics and elegant design. Originally conceived as a boat for the "people's class", the Folkeboot quickly found its way into regattas and sailing competitions, where it was characterised by its performance and reliability. It became a symbol of perfect craftsmanship and timeless elegance.

The model kit captures the essence of this legendary boat with precise details and high-quality materials. From the elegantly curved lines of the hull to the delicate sails, every element has been carefully designed to reflect the authenticity of the original.

The classic folk boat hull is made of wood and clinkered. This construction method was also chosen for the model in order to retain the charm of this marvellous Nordic wooden construction. Accordingly, the frames and the entire clinker planking are precisely laser-cut. The high-quality plywood can be stained in the desired wood colour and then clear varnished. Folkeboats were built from a wide variety of domestic wood species. The kit of the stand model is very precisely detailed for its size. As with the large RC model, the superstructure roof can be removed to reveal the beautiful hull construction. Theoretically, this model can also be built to float by experienced modellers. However, the keel is only a 3D printed resin dummy. The sails are cut out and included in the kit. All fitting parts are included and consist of brass etched parts and particularly fine 3D printed plastic parts. The model stand is also included.
