Marvel at the 1:16 scale wooden model of the Indian Girl Canoe from the early 20th century, ideal for anyone wanting to get into model boat building. The Indian Girl Canoe was designed by J.H. Rushton, America's leading canoe builder, for the burgeoning recreational paddler market, who introduced the Indian Girl model in 1902. To quote Mr Rushton: "The Indian Girl is strong, light, safe yet fast, graceful yet seaworthy." This design from the beginning of the last century lives up to its name. It is interesting to note that Rushton M. Roundry of the B.N. Morris Canoe Company in Maine commissioned the construction of the Indian Girl. Roundry had the expertise to build high-quality canoes from wood and canvas that Rushton did not have. In the 1910s and 1920s, the Indian Girl model enjoyed great popularity and became Rushton's best-selling canoe.
The model ship kit with the model contains all the parts you need to build the faithful miniature replica. It consists of six wooden panels of different thicknesses, cut with a precision laser so that the parts can be easily removed (plywood and hardwood) and a photo-etched brass plate for fittings and details. In addition, there are lime and cherry wood strips, round tube and rod made of brass, cotton threads in various thicknesses and colours, plus fabric for the seats. As a bonus, a model stand with the boat's nameplate.
There are complete step-by-step video instructions for assembly - as if it were a masterclass led by our modellers. There are no printed instructions in the set. The kit includes a printed double-sided plan of the finished boat and the parts list with pictograms to facilitate identification during the construction of the model.
