Admiral's ship "H.M.S. Victory"
The H.M.S. Victory , a ship of the first rank equipped with 104 guns, was launched in Chatham in 1765 and was in the service of outstanding admirals for many years. The name Victory is closely associated with the figure of Admiral Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 - a real showpiece of the English navy that can be admired today in Portsmouth harbour.
A scale of 1:90 was chosen for the attention to detail of this large-scale model. This allows even the less experienced modeller to complete a ship that is as true to the original as it is decorative without excessive effort. The wood used is of the very highest quality, and the metal frames provided for the gun ports allow the guns to be inserted into the hull without having to drill through the panelling. It goes without saying that no plastic was used, not even plasticised wood, and the rich metal fittings and decorations can be admired on the wooden aft deck. The planking of the hull consists of almost 3000 small wooden plates and is practically identical to the prototype, as the number of planks is based on those of the original, taking exact account of the scale proportions.
