Occre Golden Hind 1:85 ship kit
Five galleons set sail from the port of Plymouth in England on 13 December 1577 under the command of Captain Francis Drake's galleon The Pelican. When the expedition crossed the Strait of Magellan, The Pelican was renamed The Golden Hint by Drake in honour of one of the voyage's sponsors, Sir Christopher Hatton, whose coat of arms featured a golden deer.
The Golden Hind is known for its circumnavigation of the globe in 1577-1580. After 40,000 miles, Drake returned to England in 1580 with treasures and conquered lands. In 1581, Queen Elizabeth I awarded him the title of Sir on the deck of the Golden Hind.
The kit contains all the necessary parts to build the model. Only selected woods are used for the double planking. The basic framework is built using the frame construction method. All frames are laser-cut and fit perfectly. All fittings and add-on parts are prefabricated to a high quality and are included in the set. Ready-made sails in the kit save a lot of work.
The step-by-step instructions are in German and include many construction stage photos. Plans and 1:1 templates show every detail and are helpful during construction.
