The Samson is an ocean-going tugboat that was launched at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Its machinery is powered by a steam boiler that can easily develop an output of 2000 hp and a speed of 14 knots. This ocean-going tug is equipped with huge bulkheads at the bow and sides. In general, its task is not to tow, but to "push" the giants of the Atlantic. The hull is built using a frame construction method.

The kit contains all the necessary parts to build the model, all wooden parts are precisely prefabricated using the laser cut process. The fittings consist mainly of very good cast metal and brass turned parts as well as wood. The two dinghies are also included. All fittings are clearly laid out in a sorting box, so that no part is lost during construction. All building plans, German instructions, many photos and video tutorials to help with the construction are included on a DVD! NO printed instructions in the set. We recommend replacing the supplied plastic propeller with a 60mm brass propeller.

The model is designed as a stationary model but there is enough space to realise a conversion to a driving model.

The kit comes with a complete shaft system with plain bearings and a simple bone coupling. As a third-party product, there is no shaft available that comes close to the dimensions. A small geared motor can provide typical tugboat speed.
