Model Shipyard cardboard models are still drawn in the traditional way with the help of pencil and tracing paper from plans and historical documents. CAD technology and computers are used to check and refine all plans. Prototypes are built and improved to perfection before a kit goes into production.

The cardboard parts are cut out with a laser plotter. The deck is laser engraved with a plank structure. The coated cardboard material is of very high quality and can be shaped excellently. The set includes acrylic colours that are matched to the model and which, in combination with the structure of the paper, create an amazingly realistic effect. All planks are fully profiled and individually cut out. Flags are printed from paper with a linen wall texture. Sails are provided with an imitation of sail tracks. Wooden poles are included for masts and yards. Many fittings and cannons are made of metal. Blocks and maidens are made of wood.

The set includes all the necessary parts to build the model. A set of acrylic paints and brushes is included. The building instructions (German) are richly illustrated and describe the individual building stages and give tips and tricks for the assembly.
