Dutch Stratenjacht
Dutch state yacht from the 17th century
Statenjacht is the type of ship that has been used in the Netherlands since the 17th century to transport important government or company figures. These ships have a flat bottom, a rounded bow and a richly decorated stern. Cannons on board the ship were used for saluting and signalling. Ships of this type were usually between 18 metres and 21 metres long. This model represents a Statenjacht in the service of the Dutch East India Company (VOC-Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie).
The kit contains all the parts required to build the model. Frames are neatly laser-cut from plywood. Precious wood is used for the panelling. Some planks are already laser cut to size. The fitting set contains parts made of resin as well as highly detailed brass etched parts. Material for sails and a set of flags round off the kit.
The instructions are now also in German translation in the kit. As download only in English language.
