Aliphatic resin wood glue from DELUXE Materials.
This adhesive is also known as "carpenter's glue" and "yellow glue" and belongs to the synthetic adhesives. (In this case an aliphatic compound) It has a light yellow color and creamy texture and is used for gluing wood. Compared to other adhesives, it is low odor and flame retardant, has good bonding strength and is moisture resistant. It is more heat and water resistant than polyvinyl acetate "white glues," has a heavier consistency that results in fewer drips, and cures at temperatures above 10 °C and up to 43 °C. The curing time is somewhat shorter compared to white glues. It cures in about 24 hours, leaving a translucent, pale brown or amber glue line. Before it hardens, it can be cleaned with tap water (like white glue). Unlike white glue, its heat resistance and hardness allow it to be sanded after curing, but it will not absorb wood stains applied over it. Excess resin must be sanded or otherwise removed before staining. Aliphatic resin has a similar application profile and final strength to PVA white glue. The two adhesives differ in their adhesive properties prior to initial cure, with PVA having more slip during assembly and the yellow adhesive having better initial adhesion.
