Even the best craftsman could not create anything useful without good tools. The same applies to model makers and their model making tools. Especially historical ship model making requires a good tool set. In a normal ship model making set for ships the necessary components made of wood or plastic are included, but they still have to be processed and mounted. Special model making tools such as shroud knobs, rigging hooks, planks clamp and moulding cutter make it easier to achieve a realistic ship look. Every experienced model building fan knows that the supplied components are not always sufficient for perfect models. With the right tools, however, finishing work can be done or completely new parts can be built. Tools for model making with strips and planks

A basic component of model sailing ships are the planks and frames. With the tools for historical ship models in our model tool shop you can design these basic parts according to your personal wishes. Our frame clamp, which you will hardly find in any other model making shop, helps for example to position frames easily and exactly until the model making glue has dried. Plank clamp, plank bending pliers, strip bender and plank bender enable a perfect planking of your ships in ship model making. For the special finishing touches you can use the professional scraper in the tool set, with this you can provide the mouldings of your ship with filigree profiles. With a small belt sander or mounted point sander you can reach even the smallest corner of the model and can sand and repair small areas of lustre.

Model rigging - tools for successful historical ship models

The rigging is the most important factor for the successful appearance of a model ship. This includes the standing well of the ship with the strong spars and shrouds and also the running rigging, i.e. the ropes that are needed to operate the sails. Thus, historical ship model making lives from tools like screw clamp, shroud knob and rigging hook .
